Steadfast and Immovable

I have the opportunity to serve in the Stake Young Women program. We get to go around to each ward for their ward conferences. In young women and young men as a stake we teach the lesson. This year our theme is on agency. My heart has just been so full and grateful for all my blessings and this wonderful opportunity to serve our youth. It's funny how we are there to teach them, but in return I receive the greatest lesson of all.

The youth down here are so amazing. I sit back and watch everything that they do. Most of them are involved in sports, cheer leading, dance, student body, band, and ect. If they are involved in one thing they are most likely to be involved in several others. Growing up in a small town they need these kids to do it all, so they have a full teams. So just school takes up a lot of their time.

They don't stop at just that though. They are always willing to serve in the church when needed. Today one of the young women gave a talk that was just amazing on how she tries to make good choices. It made me reflect back in time when I was in high school. I may have not always made perfect choices, but am so grateful for the good friends and good choices I did make. It seems like now high school is irrelevant to who I am, but in reality it really is who I am. Because of the good friends who helped me make good choices I am where I am today. I made mistakes after high school, but always knew where my roots were. I attribute that to my good high school friends. We try to stay in touch, but unfortunately not as much as we would like. I know I am going on and on, but like I said my heart is full of gratitude for wonderful influences in my life. The theme this year for both young men and young women is Be Steadfast and Immovable, always abounding in Good Works. Mosiah 5:15 We have so many steadfast youth down here in Salina that set wonderful examples for all of us.

With one month to go

I've had a few request to see how big my belly is getting. When I was pregnant with Warner we were a little obsessed and taking pictures constantly. This time I've tried to avoid the camera, but decided we need at least one picture. It's just not the funnest picture to see of yourself. I'm sure we'll take one the day of and with 30 days to go I'm sure we will see some more growth. Since we will be having this baby cesarean I've tried talking my Dr. into moving it up another week to the 17th, but he is sticking to the 24th. I'm just at the point where I'm not sleeping at night, up every other hour, cant breath, walk, some times talking even hurts ;) Overall it's been a fairly easy pregnancy, and I'm grateful for how well it's been going, but just can't stop anticipating for this little girls arrival. We finished up her room last weekend which just made it even more exciting. I'll post some pics. later of the room.

Play Date

Last week Warner had his first play date. There are a set of twins a month older than Warner that just live up the street. We traded days to take each others kids. I took her twins and 4 year old last week and she took Warner today. So far it's been working out, and the kids love it.

Although have no desire to have twins. It was such a nice day, so we decided to get our coats on and go for a little walk around the block. Needless to say to get all 4 of them in coats it took me 30 mins. We walked down the street holding hands. As we turned the corner there was a puddle that Warner of course had to splash in. Grady, one of the twins was not about to get wet so he tried going over the puddle. Tried I say, because he landed right in the puddle, and was soaked from head to toe. So our nice walk took us 5 mins. before we had to turn around and come back.
Lunch time!! These twins are really scheduled. Right at 11:00 they were up to the counter waiting for lunch. Guess I should work on that with Warner. Maybe then he would eat more than his chips!

Happy Birthday Week Ryan!!

So for those of you that know me know that my birthday can last up to a month. I really take advantage of it. I've gotten better and limited it to a week (or so). So Ryan's birthday is Friday the 15th....he'll be the big 34. We kicked it off starting Sunday at our house. We had Ryan's family over for dinner. My dad even made the trip to Salina for the kick off party!!
We hope you have a great birthday and that you will enjoy it all week long! We love you tons and tons. Warner and Charlyn XOXO

Snowmobiling

For Christmas this last year Ryan was spoiled and got a new snowmobile. The Roberts family grew up snowmobiling and Ryan wanted to carry that tradition with our children. He started his tradition with our family this weekend and took Warner out in the hills. I stayed behind and did some shopping all by myself. I forgot what that is like. I went to every store I could think of to just look, touch and buy if it was something I just couldn't live without!

The snowmobile trip consisted of Ryan, Warner, Grandpa, Uncle Ty, Joe and Travis. Aunt Lynzie, and Denise. And last but not least Sydney Warners cousin. Aparently there was so much snow that once they reached the cabin they spent the rest of the day clearing the snow off the roof. It's been such a great year for all snow sports.

Look out Granpa and Warner.....looks like Travis and Lynzie are clearing the roof!

Warner was so relaxed on the ride up to the cabin he fell right asleep. Ryan got stuck so put Warner in the snow bank . It doesn't look like Warner minded to much! And yes that is a pink helmet he is wearing. We haven't fully invested in kids snowmobile equipment;)

Warner and Lynzie on a mission to clear the roof!

Nap time

I don't know about the rest of the mothers out there, but Warner and I really struggle at nap time. In January we took him out of his crib and put him in a bed. Ever since then, nap time has become our worst part of the day. This kid needs his nap more than anything, but has no desire to stay in his bed. I take him for a ride in the car and that puts him to sleep, then I carry him upstairs to his bed and he will stay. Another thing I've been trying is I put a lock on the inside of his bedroom so he can't leave. Hopefully that isn't child abuse. Once he's asleep I go and open his door and of course have to put him in his bed because he falls asleep on the floor. Today I just didn't have the energy to lift him with this big belly in my way. After a couple of hours I decided to go and check on him to see how he was doing and this is where I found him. Plum tuckered out at the top of the stairs. I'm not sure how long he slept like that.

I'm open to any suggestions on getting a two year old to take a nap and stay in his bed. By the time I get him down for his nap I'm just completely exhausted and onry. But if he doesn't take that nap we all pay the rest of the day.
