Christmas 2007

What a wonderful Christmas we had. It came so quick. We never even got our Christmas cards out. Seems like December just flew right by us. We stayed in Salina for Christmas this year. We had our traditional dinner at Ryan's parents on Christmas eve. Lynzie and Travis put together the Nativity program. I was Mary great with child!! Can you imagine that! The kids loved it. After the program the grand kids got to open their presents for the cousin they had picked. We drew names on Sunday night and then went to the family dollar to find that special gift. Our goal was to find the loudest most annoying toy we could find to drive the parents crazy! I think the kids really enjoyed it. After the Christmas eve party we went home to get a little sleep for the night. It was about six in the morning when we received our wake up call because Santa had been to grandma and grandpa's house. We do this every year. You can barely walk in the room there are so many presents. I'm sure there will be a day that we will run out of room to have Christmas all together, but for now we love it this way. It's really hectic, but that's what makes it exciting. My sweet dad came down and spent the Christmas holiday with us. We are so glad that we have a room for him to stay in now. He no longer gets the air mattress that goes flat before morning. We all got everything that we wanted and needed. We are truely grateful for all we have and all the blessings we receive. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that we get you a Christmas card next year!!

Christmas 2007

Terrible 2's here we come!!!

Happy Birthday Warner!!
Today Warner turned two. We had a little birthday party with some of his friends. Since he LOVES spider man that was our theme! This is a picture before the party began.
Warner was worried before the party that nobody was going to show up so he was pouting ;)

Blow hard little guy!

We had a pinata as you can see Ryan was really concerned being the one holding it. He did so good....not one kid hit him!

Warner taking a stab at Spidey!! As much as he loves him I wasn't sure he would want to break him open.

Jackpot!
We had a fun little party! The kids should all be hyped up with all the sugar. We love you Warner!! Happy Birthday!!!!

Hey Santa

So I don't have my camera back, but we were able to use Ryan's work camera when we went to our ward Christmas party. Warner hasn't warmed up much to santa compared to last year. All he was worried about was getting that candy cane. He had a lot of fun running around with all the kids. He has found some of his Christmas presents and started opening them on Sunday. He would tear paper off then say "WOW". I hope he doesn't remember them all when he opens them again on Christmas!! What a guy.

Sad day :(

So we are FINALLY moved into our new house. We moved the weekend of Thanksgiving. Thank goodness for such a great family who all pitched in and helped, we really appreciate it.

So I wanted to post some pictures of our annual Christmas tree hunt. Ever year we go out and risk our lives looking for the perfect tree!! Since we've been married we have yet not to get stuck in the snow. This year was Warner's first year really experiencing snow. Last year during the winter months he was so sick that he never really went out to play. So this year we bought him some snow gear and off we went to look for the perfect tree. The first chance I had to take a picture of Warner playing in the snow I dropped the camera :( It turns on, but won't take any pictures. This has to be one of the saddest things that has happened. I love taking pictures of our boy and all the new experiences he has. I'm hoping Santa is kind enough to bring us a new camera. So for now I will update with information and you'll just have to picture yourselves how it was!!

Hope all is well with everyone during this Christmas season!! I love this time of year!!

Our new house

So I've been missing from the blogging world and eveything else besides painting. On Nov. 1st Ryan and I purchased our third home. Believe it or not we bought a home that has more than two bedrooms. With a baby on the way we were wondering where we were going to put her. This home was a house that went into forclosure. This was both of our first experience of buying a home this way. What you do is go to the courthouse and on the steps outside they start auctioning the house off. We had never seen inside the house. All we had were a few pictures which I have posted. It was such a scary thing to buy a house this way, but at the same time it was so exciting because it was such a great deal. Ryan thought it would be fun for me, so he let me do the bidding. Fortunately for us there was nobody to bid against but us!! So needless to say we got the house for the least amount possible.

We have been so busy since we bought the house. When I finally saw inside it kinda took the wind right out of me, because it was far from my style. With help from my sweet dad and greatest friend Stacia we painted the ENTIRE house. It's a five bedroom home. As you can see in some of the pictures all the wood they have all around the walls. I really hated that part the worst, so we decided to paint it and now it looks like beadboard. Personally I think it looks so dang cute. I'll post some of the finished product with all the paint. Also if you look close at the ceiling in the family room you can tell that they had finished it by using the tool you lay your tile with. We had all that scraped off and retextured. Then we also replaced all the forest green carpet. It has been quite the project, but we are so greatful for the house. We feel blessed that we were able to get it. We are also blessed with wonderful family and friends who have helped us these last few weeks. From helpers with paint, and people taking Warner so we can get things done, we have truly been blessed!

Councilmember

You may have to click on the picture to see what it really says.....on Nov. 6th Ryan was voted into the city council in Salina. We are so excited for him. Since being off the fire dept. he has really missed serving his community, so he is really excited to get to be a part of the city council.
Congratulations Ryan!!! We love you!!

Scripture Specs

Last Sunday we went to church with my dad. In the nursery they made these cute glasses called scripture specs. Warner had to walk home from church with them on. He thought they were pretty neat!! It's always fun to go back to my home ward to see all the wonderful people who taught me as a child, and also to go with my dad.

Boy or Girl?

The long awaited day finally arrived yesterday!!! We were able to get our first ultrasound of the baby. There is always such anticipation, not only to find out what it is, but to make sure everything is going OK. Right before we went in Ryan asked me what I really thought it was...In my heart I wanted it to be a girl so I said it was going to be a boy so I wouldn't jinks myself. If you look close at the picture you will see sure enough it's a girl!!!! We are so excited, mostly because the baby is doing good. We just feel so blessed that we are able to have children. The plan is to name her Abigail Rae Roberts, and call her Abby.

This is Warner in the back of his uncle Joe's truck indulging in his treats. At one point he had two suckers in his mouth and two in his hand. he was in heaven.

This is Warner with his cousin Nyd his version of Syd. He just loves all his cousins. Sydney is always watching out for him and taking care of him. She loves him just as much as he loves her. After the trunk or treat we took them both door to door. Warner would walk right in and make himself at home. Eventually he would get tired along the way and have to stop and dig in his pumpkin for a treat break. He had such a grip on that pumpkin. He was dragging it all over the place. There was NO way he was going to let anyone touch it.

Halloween

This year for Halloween Warner was a pirate as you can see. He wasn't so sure about the patch and hat, but once he saw all the kids at the parade he was ready to go. This year was so much fun!! Last year he dressed up, but it was all for us. This year once he figured out he was filling his pumpkin with treats he LOVED it. We went to the trunk or treat and he figured out exactly what to do. He would run up to the cars and after he got his treat he would say "anks" and then it was on to the next car.

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch with all the nieces and nephews on Ryan's side. They had this little ride that they took the kids on. Warner just loved riding on it with his dad.

Warner checking out which pumpkin to get! He wasn't the pumpkin picker I thought he would be. He was afraid to walk in the field, especially when he would step into the little crevasses of the field.

Here he is with his pumpkins and his bug juice he took from his cousin Sydney. She wasn't happy about it, but he wasn't willing to let it go. He kept a tight hold on that bugs juice the rest of the day.

Don't you just love this time of year!!

Catch of the day!!!

This last weekend Ryan was able to go to Catalina and do some lobster diving. They went on this boat for three days and made several dives. The best time to catch the lobsters is at night. This isn't one of Ryan's lobsters, but it was a big one!!! He really enjoys scuba diving, so I'm glad he had the opportunity to go. Although he was missed MUCH at home. We couldn't talk to him the days he was on the boat, so I had so much anxiety just wondering if he was doing ok. He made it home safe and sound thank goodness. We plan on eating steak and lobster tomorrow night. We'll let you know how it goes!!!!

YUMMY LOBSTER!! (as long as I'm not cooking it!!)

Lake Powell

By the end of the trip we still even liked each other. This is just my family. There were several more of us!!

Captain of the boat!! He runs the house why not the boat.

They had a treasure hunt for the kids. Warner wasn't sure what was going on, but enjoyed following all the kids around to find the next clue!

My Uncle Noel and Ryan dug a hole and made a dam for the kids to fill up and then let the dam break. Warner was helping out to get the dam full. What a little helper

Last week we went to Lake Powell with my moms entire family. We had so much fun. Especially Warner. Everytime you would find Warner he would have a ring of mud around his face. He really enjoys eating mud!!

What's to come!!

So today I don't have any cute pictures of Warner. I just wanted to share with those of you who look at my blog and haven't heard our latest news.....we are finally expecting number two!! We are so dang excited. I'm 12 weeks along. We heard the heart beat last week, so we are pretty excited about that. It's a wonder how Warner is going to take the news once the baby is here. He loves babies, but the minute I hold one he becomes instantly jealous. We hope by March maybe he will understand more. We just feel so blessed that we are able to have children. Of course we will find out what it's going to be, so as soon as we hear you all will be the first to know!!!

Our little golfer!!

This last weekend we went to Park City with the Roberts family. Grandma and Grandpa love to golf so to make their trip worth it we all went golfing. We weren't supose to take Warner with us, but they were kind enough to let him go. He was so good. He just followed grandma around with his putter and ball. Then he would just sit really close to her in the cart as they drove. What a sport!!

Who Knew??

So today I found out that Warner just LOVES spaghettio's. I never knew this. At one point when I looked over he had his plate up licking it clean. I had to give him seconds. Because of his independence he has been feeding himself for awhile. Today he couldn't wait for the spoon to get to his mouth, so he would just grab the spaghettio's by the hand full and shoved them in as fast as he could get them.

Looks can be deceiving!!

Doesn't he look so handsome sitting on the Gatorade bottles waiting to go to church. He just looks like a reverent little missionary. Things suddenly changed as we entered the chapel. This turned out to be my worst day of church thus far. We are trying to not take him out of sacrament so he doesn't get the idea that it's rewarding to be naughty at church. WELL this Sunday we had no other choice. He must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He bawled and bawled and bawled. I was out in the foyer with him when Ryan stepped out to tell me they could still hear him in sacrament. Finally, we went for a little drive to put this little missionary to sleep. Normally we don't have that much drama in church, but this day was special Even though he was naughty I just love this little kid so much!!!

Warner and Lilly

Here is Warner with my friend Brooke's dog Lilly. He loves this little dog so much. I thought it was so cute how he was trying to get her to sit on his lap. I'm hoping Ryan will see how much he loves this little dog and let us get one :) I think it's wishful thinking!!

Ute Stampede

We took Warner to the Ute Stampede in Nephi this weekend. He was really busy, but enjoyed it all. He loved sitting with his Grandpa Warner. He calls him rampa!! It's the cutest thing ever. He barked at every horse. To him all animals make a barking noise. I think his most favorite part was when they were getting ready for the bull riding. They shut off all the lights and let of fire works. He got so excited!!!

4th of July

Then last but not least at the end of the day we head to the rodeo and sit up on the hill in the dirt. After the rodeo is over the fire fighters let of fire works. It's quite the show they give us, probably the best i've seen. Ryan enjoys serving with the fire department, and he looks forward to letting the fire works off each year. Warner got some new john deer boots to wear to the rodeo. Not that anyone noticed, but his mom!!

4th of July

After the pool we managed to squeeze in a two hour nap that was well needed. After that we headed down to the parade. They throw so much candy. Warner just wanted to be out in the middle of the road with all his cousins.

4th of July

After all the races it's off to the swimming pool! Warner LOVED the pool. He would just sit and splash and run up and down the pool. The kid is fearless.

4th of July

After the games at the park we moved onto races. Here is Warner doing the race in his age category. Then there is myself and my father in law doing the father and daughter gunny sack race. We finished the race by bringing up the tail end!! Then there is Ryan and Warner doing the Father and son race. Looks like there was a little cheating going on ;) Warner isn't even in the sack.

4th of July

WOW! What a day the 4th of July is here in Salina. We started out early at the park with breakfast and games. Here is Warner at the duck pond.

He loved it so much he jumped in to cool off!

Fishing

A couple of weekends ago Grandpa Roberts took all the boys fishing. My sisters husband Burke and their kids came down to enjoy the fishing. They caught over 30 fish!!! Quite the fisherman. Grandpa always works so hard to make sure everyone has a good time. By the end of the day he was completely exhausted.
