What was I thinking

So yesterday was a pretty big day for us. When Warner woke up around 8:00AM I asked him if he wanted to wear his big boy Shrek undies. Warner says ya ya ya momma!! He was so excited. So off we started our first day of potty training. I hadn't read much about potty training, but had many mothers tell me about Dr. Phil's method. So I took some of that advice and went for it. Loaded Warner up with lots of fluid. We sat down on the toilet and he went. He did it yeah!!! So we wait 15 more mins and I take him back to the toilet. Nope momma....he doesn't have to go. So back to watching Maggie and the Ferocious Beast. Then a moment later, "mom" he says!! I walk over to find that he has went on the carpet. So I clean that up. Take him back to the toilet to make sure he doesn't have more. Then I move on to feeding the baby. Another 15 mins. goes by and we go back to the toilet and nothing. Needless to say our next accident was on the couch, then the kitchen chair, the next time I take him to the toilet out falls all the poop. Then as I'm feeding the baby he sits on his little toilet and is doing it. He is going potty. Mom is having a party!!!! Then he stands up and the plastic bowl was suctioned to his little bum and he runs over to the party and the bowl falls off his bum and there goes all the pee onto the carpet. This is all in 45 mins. time. I was just dripping sweat head to toe running from feeding baby to cleaning up pee. By 4:30 yesterday we were back in a diaper. I think we will wait till this little baby isn't eating every 2 hrs, so mom can focus more on the potty training. I just wonder why I haven't heard more moms complaining about potty training. Maybe it's just my attitude, but personally there was nothing fun about this day. I may look back on it and laugh, but for now I'm exhausted!! Way to go moms that can potty train in 24 hrs. Dr. Phil's way. I'm hoping I can do it within a year!!!

Oh, and for those of you wondering why the undies are on backwards....Mr. Independent wanted them that way so Shrek could be up front so he could see him, and don't forget to pee on him ;)

Petting Zoo

While we were up at Kristie's house we took the kids to the petting zoo at Thanksgiving Point. They loved it!!! Warner would feed the animals and then tell us how it tickled as they took the food from his hand!

All the kids!
Warner loved his pony ride. He didn't want to get off. It was quite the fight!

Logan, Warner and his Aunt Jean. We call her Jeannie, but to Warner she is Jean. He sure loves her!

Strawberry Jam!

Last week my sister Kristie's kids were out of school for spring break. Warner, Abbi and I decided it would be a good time to go up and hang out with the kids. Kristie and I decided to make freezer jam. For those of you who like strawberries......COSTCO had the yummiest strawberries ever! The morning we made the jam Logan watched both Griffen and Abbi so we could get the job done. At one point both babies were crying, but Logan knew just what to do! What a great babysitter he was. Thanks Logan for being such a good sport!

Oh how they grow.....

Our little Abbi is just growing up so fast. This last Saturday I took her to a relief society conference. She got to get all dressed up in her dress for the first time. So of course I can't pass up a photo!! It's hard to believe it's already been three weeks. She is such a pleasant baby. Only cries when she wants her food, or when her brother loves on her too much!

Dad and Warner time

Warner absolutely hates the sun in his eyes...so when we were in St. George we bought him some sunglasses. Which he calls "EYES" and this is how he wore them!!

Here are a few pictures of Warner when he spent time with his dad at McDonalds and the splash pad in St. George. He always loves the time he gets to spend with his dad.

The haircut massacre

Conference Sunday we went up to Spanish Fork to spend time with my family. We decided instead of growing Warner's hair out, it was time to get a haircut. He always does better for my dad then his own parents so we had Grandpa cut his hair. It all started out good, but as time went on his hair got shorter and shorter, and nick after nick in his hair. Landon could hardly stand it, so he got in line for one of these haircuts. Grandpa says that Warner moved and that's how the nick got there. Do I believe it????? YES!!! Now what happened to Landon's hair? He is almost 8, did he move to get the chunk of hair taken out of his head????? I doubt it!!

The front didn't turn out so bad!!

It's the back that we are all worried about!! I don't know if these pictures do it justice. Landon is covering the chunk missing out of his hair. When you ask Warner where his hair is he tells you it's at bampas house!! All in all we got a pretty good laugh out of it. It's just hair, it grows back right! Thanks for the free hair cut dad!! We love and appreciate you.

Like father like son

Warner thinks everything his dad does is just neat. He loves to go for a ride with his dad in the car, follow him around the yard and house, and help him whenever he needs a hand.

The first big outing!

So it's been two weeks since Abbi was born, and pretty much since we left the house. Today we experienced our first big outing which was to our two week check up. I woke up today with pink eye...yuck. It took me from 8:30 this morning until 1:00 to get out the door. What a challenge it is to get two kids out the door...wow. I was hoping that Abbi would have gained weight at her appointment, that would mean that breast feeding was actually working out. Needless to say, it's not. She only weighed 7 lbs. 5 0z. :( So now we are supplementing with a bottle. I feel bad that she has been starving to death and I didn't even know it. The funny thing is she is so content, and doesn't act like she is still starving after feeding her. My Dr. said I must be feeding her skim milk...haha. Then he goes on to tell me she has a click in her hip? A click in her hip? I've never heard of that. He said there is a click, a clump and one more which I don't remember. He said the click is when he stretches her legs her hip clicks. So now we have to wear a double diaper that acts as a cast. Luckily most kids will grow out of it. Thank goodness it wasn't the clump...that would mean her hip was dislocating. Anyhow....all was well but by the time we got home we were all tuckered out. This is how Ryan found us when he got home from work. I had just woken up about 20 mins. earlier. Hopefully we will be able to get into a better schedule so it's not a half a day just to get out of the house!
