Where to begin....first of all I absolutely love this holiday. I love America and I'm so grateful for our freedom, for the all those who have fought for our country. Next to Christmas this is a pretty emotional holiday. The 4th of July is pretty exciting here in Salina. It's probably one of the busiest days of our lives! It starts at 6:00 am when the firemen let off dynamite in front of your house....at least it sounded like it was. Basically that is our alarm....to get up and head to breakfast at the school. After breakfast they have games for the kids to play.....followed by sack races, which my camera died so I didn't get pics. of those :(
Here's Warner shooting for a prize......everyone is a winner!!
The Duck pond!!
The Duck pond!!
After games at the park everyone heads to the pool to dive for money. In the baby pool which is where Warner and Gary are...they put money in it, but the kids were more interested in swimming in the cloudy pool!! Warner and Gary were so funny...they would come up to the side of the pool and say cheese to anyone with a camera, they must get their pictures taken often?
Abbi's nap time at the pool.
After lunch we head down to the parade at 5:00. The kids just absolutely love it. There is so much salt water taffy thrown.
After the parade we freshen up, change clothes and head to the rodeo. We have started a tradition that each year the kids get a brand new pair of boots. So I headed down to Burns and this is what I came up with!! Little John Deer poppers. They were just to cute to leave them on the shelf!! Do you think she enjoyed the rodeo?
I don't have any pictures of the fire works...but after the rodeo the firemen put on an amazing fire work show. It's one of the best I've ever seen. Needless to say after the busy day Warner and Abbi slept through the show!

I love the boots! Looks like you had fun!
Those boots are so cute! What a fun tradition. Man, we might have to go to Salina next year. Those activities sound great--especially the money in the pool. That's a cute idea.
Fun! I love small towns on the 4th of July! It kind of makes me home sick for Blanding. Crazy huh?
That's it. Next year we're coming to your house for the 4th! What a great day and really fun traditions. Abbi is SO cute!
How fun! We should have come there for the 4th. St. George is too hot to go outside in the day. Those boots are too cute, look the pink.
