Our new house

So I've been missing from the blogging world and eveything else besides painting. On Nov. 1st Ryan and I purchased our third home. Believe it or not we bought a home that has more than two bedrooms. With a baby on the way we were wondering where we were going to put her. This home was a house that went into forclosure. This was both of our first experience of buying a home this way. What you do is go to the courthouse and on the steps outside they start auctioning the house off. We had never seen inside the house. All we had were a few pictures which I have posted. It was such a scary thing to buy a house this way, but at the same time it was so exciting because it was such a great deal. Ryan thought it would be fun for me, so he let me do the bidding. Fortunately for us there was nobody to bid against but us!! So needless to say we got the house for the least amount possible.

We have been so busy since we bought the house. When I finally saw inside it kinda took the wind right out of me, because it was far from my style. With help from my sweet dad and greatest friend Stacia we painted the ENTIRE house. It's a five bedroom home. As you can see in some of the pictures all the wood they have all around the walls. I really hated that part the worst, so we decided to paint it and now it looks like beadboard. Personally I think it looks so dang cute. I'll post some of the finished product with all the paint. Also if you look close at the ceiling in the family room you can tell that they had finished it by using the tool you lay your tile with. We had all that scraped off and retextured. Then we also replaced all the forest green carpet. It has been quite the project, but we are so greatful for the house. We feel blessed that we were able to get it. We are also blessed with wonderful family and friends who have helped us these last few weeks. From helpers with paint, and people taking Warner so we can get things done, we have truly been blessed!

Councilmember

You may have to click on the picture to see what it really says.....on Nov. 6th Ryan was voted into the city council in Salina. We are so excited for him. Since being off the fire dept. he has really missed serving his community, so he is really excited to get to be a part of the city council.
Congratulations Ryan!!! We love you!!

Scripture Specs

Last Sunday we went to church with my dad. In the nursery they made these cute glasses called scripture specs. Warner had to walk home from church with them on. He thought they were pretty neat!! It's always fun to go back to my home ward to see all the wonderful people who taught me as a child, and also to go with my dad.

Boy or Girl?

The long awaited day finally arrived yesterday!!! We were able to get our first ultrasound of the baby. There is always such anticipation, not only to find out what it is, but to make sure everything is going OK. Right before we went in Ryan asked me what I really thought it was...In my heart I wanted it to be a girl so I said it was going to be a boy so I wouldn't jinks myself. If you look close at the picture you will see sure enough it's a girl!!!! We are so excited, mostly because the baby is doing good. We just feel so blessed that we are able to have children. The plan is to name her Abigail Rae Roberts, and call her Abby.

This is Warner in the back of his uncle Joe's truck indulging in his treats. At one point he had two suckers in his mouth and two in his hand. he was in heaven.

This is Warner with his cousin Nyd his version of Syd. He just loves all his cousins. Sydney is always watching out for him and taking care of him. She loves him just as much as he loves her. After the trunk or treat we took them both door to door. Warner would walk right in and make himself at home. Eventually he would get tired along the way and have to stop and dig in his pumpkin for a treat break. He had such a grip on that pumpkin. He was dragging it all over the place. There was NO way he was going to let anyone touch it.

Halloween

This year for Halloween Warner was a pirate as you can see. He wasn't so sure about the patch and hat, but once he saw all the kids at the parade he was ready to go. This year was so much fun!! Last year he dressed up, but it was all for us. This year once he figured out he was filling his pumpkin with treats he LOVED it. We went to the trunk or treat and he figured out exactly what to do. He would run up to the cars and after he got his treat he would say "anks" and then it was on to the next car.
